Experiences with a new Hydroactive Wound Dressing for Treating Leg Ulcers

Andersson E. Report on Experiences with a new Hydroactive Wound Dressing for Treating Leg Ulcers. Klinik Magazin 1991; No 12.

Objectives
To collect initial experiences on the use of CUTINOVA◊ Hydro on a selection of longstanding and poorly healing ulcers.

Materials and Methods
CUTINOVA Hydro was used in conjunction with compression therapy.

Number and Type of Patients
Patients with longstanding, poorly healing ulcers.

Protocol and Duration of Study
CUTINOVA Hydro was placed on the ulcer, and compression bandaging was then applied. Dressings were changed at intervals of 2 to 3 days.

Results
Dressing change was quick and painless, making CUTINOVA Hydro easy to use and acceptable to patients. The dressing absorbed well and without dissolution or tearing.

Conclusion
The initial practical experience of CUTINOVA Hydro is positive, not least because it saves treatment time and is readily accepted by the patients.
