REGENETEN BLOGS
Matt has worked in the medical industry for more than 25 years, most recently as a Senior Vice President at Smith+Nephew.
“I love my job,” says Matt. “I’m involved in the development of new products and oversee research on their effectiveness for patients. It’s like having a front seat to the latest breakthroughs in medicine.”
Last year, Matt’s work struck very close to home.
“I had studied the REGENETEN Implant in my work. For partial-thickness tears, it has shown excellent results for patients – not only less pain after surgery, but faster return to activities when compared to traditional treatment.”1*
After reviewing his X-ray with his surgeon, Matt understood the extent of his injury and what was needed for the repair.
The REGENETEN Implant is a collagen patch about the size of a postage stamp. When attached to a torn rotator cuff during surgery, it helps the body grow new tendon-like tissue to heal the tear.2-5 It can be used for both partial-thickness and full-thickness tears.
These days, Matt is back at work and sharing his story with others.
“I know, more than ever, that our products can change lives and help people heal from injury. I am pain-free and living an active lifestyle again,” says Matt. “I want people to know about the REGENETEN Implant as a treatment option for rotator cuff repair.”
Smith+Nephew supports Matt and all patients in returning to an active life. Our goal is to provide innovative products and technologies to help patients live a Life Unlimited.
