Why take the challenge?

Find a fast path to healing in just two weeks*5-8Given the cost, burden and patient impact of infected wounds, can wound infection be mastered in just two weeks? It’s unlikely… but you could find a route to help control wound infection using ACTICOAT Dressings on suitable patients.4,9-14

+ Fast Acting

ACTICOAT FLEX 3 Dressing rapidly kills bacteria in as little as 30 minutes.*1-6Early intervention with ACTICOAT FLEX Dressings has been shown to resolve infection rapidly - within 2 weeks in 60% of patients.†7,8

+ Broad spectrum efficiency

ACTICOAT FLEX Dressings are effective against over 150 pathogens. *9-13Use of ACTICOAT FLEX Dressings demonstrated a significant reduction in length of stay, along with estimated reductions in overall treatment cost per patient.§14

+ Sustained release of silver

ACTICOAT FLEX 3 Dressings use our Nanocrystalline silver technology which is designed to rapidly deliver silver to the wound and maintain it’s antimicrobial activity for up to three days 2-6,9,10

Choosing the right patients

The ACTICOAT Two-Week Challenge could highlight a path to help take control of infection 7,15-18 and help support antimicrobial stewardship, but identifying the right patients is crucial.

Following the principles of best practice, it has been shown that accurate decision-making, a fast response and effective treatment choices help improve patient outcomes.19 Use our infection management pathway to help identify suitable patients with wounds showing signs and symptoms of infection.
